Job Summary
Coordinate transfer services and collaborate with stakeholders to enhance transfer student success, pathways, and partnerships. Provides holistic academic advising, guiding students as they explore academic and career goals, navigate course selection, and address barriers through personalized referrals.
Job Duties:
Transfer Student Success Initiatives:
- Lead transfer initiatives, including transfer fairs, to support student success in partnership with key stakeholders.
- Work closely with faculty, staff, and university partners to develop actionable, transfer guidance for students.
- Provide timely transfer information using targeted outreach to engage students early in their educational journey.
- Analyze transfer data to identify trends, assess program effectiveness, and implement data-driven improvements that align with institutional goals.
Transfer Pathways & Partnerships:
- Collaborate with key stakeholders to establish and revise transfer pathways, articulation agreements, and transparent procedures.
- Serve as a liaison between Gateway and universities to strengthen partnerships and streamline credit transfer.
- Foster a culture of collaboration through clear and efficient communication.
Holistic Academic Advising:
- Provide comprehensive academic advising by exploring students' academic and career goals.
- Guide students through academic placement, course selection, registration, credit articulation, transfer opportunities, and applicable academic resources.
- Address non-academic barriers through referrals and foster student engagement.
- Identify, resolve, or escalate conflicting information to enhance student success.
- Deliver exceptional customer service while supporting diverse populations, exercising sound judgment under pressure.
Training, Compliance, & Continuous Improvement:
- Facilitate best practices and contribute to training efforts related to academic advising, transfer, and credit for prior learning.
- Support opportunities to enhance matriculation, credential attainment, and transfer rates.
- Ensure accuracy and confidentiality in student records and compliance with FERPA regulations.
- Adapt to evolving institutional needs and contribute to related initiatives as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent
- 6 - 8 years of relevant experience
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for effectively advising and supporting students.
- Empathetic, patient, and committed to student success.
- Ability to adapt to changing student needs.
- Ability to identify and address student issues and challenges.

Preferred Qualifications:
- Academic Advising experience.
- Experience in and understanding with students from diverse populations.
- Experience working at the community college level.
