Join a dynamic team dedicated to providing safe, supportive shelter for families. We’re looking for a compassionate, solution-focused individual to help create a welcoming environment, uphold safety, and empower residents during the third shift.

What You’ll Do

  • Welcome shelter clients, orient new arrivals, answer questions, and provide crisis support through a trauma-informed lens.

  • Enforce guidelines with empathy; assist guests with daily shelter needs (hygiene supplies, bedding, food, cleaning supplies, etc.).
  • Keep the shelter safe and clean: conduct room checks, housekeeping tasks, and report safety concerns to leadership.
  • Help with food service during your shift and distribute supplies per procedures.
  • Document shift notes, incident reports, suspicion forms, and mandated reporter duties—accurate, timely, confidential.
  • Shadow and support new team members; participate in training, supervision, and team meetings.
  • Maintain positive, respectful guest relations; practice active listening and professional boundaries.
  • De-escalate situations with care and collaborate with the team to resolve issues.

What We’re Looking For

  • Education: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Experience: At least 1 year in a social service environment.
  • Skills: Strong organization and communication; professional boundaries; crisis intervention; trauma-informed care mindset; confidentiality; compassionate, firm client interactions; basic Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel); reliable attendance.
  • Licenses/Clearances: Valid driver’s license; able to meet vehicle insurance requirements; pass background checks and drug tests.
  • Physical: Able to perform essential tasks (lifting up to 40 lbs occasionally, standing, walking, crouching, etc.); reasonable accommodations available.

Shift and Compensation

  • Schedule: 11pm - 7am 5 days per week
  • $16 per hour and benefits; growth opportunities within a mission-driven organization
  •  3 weeks paid PTO in the first year, in addition to 10 paid holidays and 10 days of paid sick time if needed
  • Full benefits package including medical, dental, vision, supplemental plans, life insurance, and 401(k)
