ACCOUNTABILITY

Under the supervision of and accountable to the Branch Supervisor/Manager.

PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Makes decisions on the credit worthiness of loan applicants.
  • Counsels members on loan options and financial considerations.

  1. Counsels members on loan options and financial considerations.
  2. Verifies application information for completeness and accuracy.
  3. Decides the credit worthiness of loan applicants.
  4. Secures proper signatures on loan paper and revises payroll deductions if necessary.
  5. Obtains an updated credit Bureau infile.
  6. Records liens on titled collateral loans.
  7. Requests evidence of insurance coverage on secured loans.
  8. Accepts loan application information over the phone.
  9. Mails adverse action notices to rejected loan applicants.
  10. Cross-sells other credit union services.
  11. Processes IRA’s and certificate of deposit.
  12. Opens new accounts and provides required new member information.
  13. Administers collateral protection insurance program.
  14. Records loan papers when paid.
  15. Processes death claims for insurance purposes.
  16. Must demonstrate commitment, dependability and respect for other employees with regular attendance, punctuality and adherence to agreed-upon schedule of availability.

 

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AT ENTRY

Additional qualifications may be specified and receive preference, depending upon the nature of the position.

 

Education/Experience:

  • High school diploma or GED required.  College credits desired.
  • Experience in loan interviewing required.

 

Competencies (as demonstrated through experience, training, and/or testing):

 

  • The ability to properly address members; either by telephone or in person.
  • Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagrammatical, or schedule form.
  • Ability to use personal computers and office productivity software.
  • Ability to communicate clearly and concisely.
  • Ability to interact effectively at all levels and across diverse cultures.
  • Ability to be an effective team member and handle projects responsibly.
  • A cooperative, positive attitude in relations with members and other employees.
  • Ability to write original correspondence.

WORKING CONDITIONS (Physical/Mental Demands)
