Summermusik creates intimate, transformative experiences that connect the musically curious and is celebrating its 50th anniversary in 2024.?The Summermusik series American Roots, first premiered as an educational video series, explores the history of the Underground Railroad and the spirituals and other traditional Black folk songs that gave hope to those seeking freedom. For the first time, this program will be presented live and will feature additional compositions by Florence Price, Margaret Bonds, Mark Lomax II, Nkeiru Okoye, and Jessie Montogomery.
