You are invited to see the "next big thing in dance" (Chicago Tribune), South Chicago Dance Theatre led by Kia S. Smith. Dance Magazine has put the young repertory company on their national "must-see" list, and it's no wonder, given their skilled and articulate dancing combined with culture-bridging influences. In this show will be works by Kia Smith herself (based on her great grandmother's prayers and migration out of Jim Crow South), plus David Dorfman (David Dorfman Dance, Bedlam Dance Co London), Stephanie Martinez (Ballet Hispanico Joffrey Ballet), and Natasha Adorlee (Ballet X, Robert Moses KIN).
