Ashley Kirklen is an anchor and reporter at WLWT News five. You can watch her every weekday at 5:30 p.m.

Miss Kirklen has also worked in news markets in Georgia and Michigan.

Before starting her journalism career, Miss Kirklen’s was a teacher in Charlotte. She also taught English in South Korea.

She was born in Gary, Indiana. She then moved to Indianapolis in elementary school, where she graduated from Warren Central High School.

Miss Kirklen received her Bachelor’s degree in communications from Indiana University. In addition to her work at WLWT, Miss Kirklen serves on the board of Cincinnati’s chapter of National Association of Black Journalists.
