Several area chamber of commerce’s within the tristate region (Greater Cincinnati Chinese Chamber of Commerce, Hispanic Chamber Cincinnati USA, The African-American Chamber of Greater Cincinnati-Northern Kentucky and Indian American Chamber of Commerce of Greater Cincinnati and N. KY.) have come together to throw an informal meet the candidates event. The intent of creating this forum is to have a non-partisan, collaborative event to promote civic engagement. We want to help facilitate a way for our chamber members and the community at large to meet potential city leaders in a more intimate, relaxed setting.
Invitations were sent to all Cincinnati City Council and mayoral candidates on the ballot.
The candidates who've confirmed and will speak during Wednesday's forum are: President Pro Tem Yvette Simpson and Mayor John Cranley; for Cincinnati City Council Vice Mayor David Mann, Councilor Murray, Jeff Pastor, Kelli Prather, Greg Landsman, Crisitina Burcica, Henry Frondorf, Tamaya Dennard, Brian Garry, Laure Quinlivan, Derek Bauman, Erica Black-Johnson and Manuel Foggie.
Each city council candidate will speak for three minutes at max and share their vision and why they deserve your vote while the two mayoral candidates will have at most 10 minutes to speak.
This is not a debate, but more of a chance for candidates to share their vision and ideas.
So that the event is not too repetitious, as well as to have audience engagement, the moderators will ask an audience question and the candidate will have a minute to respond.
Doors open at 6:30 PM. Event starts at 7PM.
Ground Rules Inside the Forum:
- To promote a nonpartisan setting, audience members please check your partisan materials at the door. This means no partisan buttons, hats, stickers, shirts, signs or etc.
-We also ask that you respectfully refrain from excessive exuberance for or against a particular candidate. No cheering/shouting will be allowed.
We appreciate your willingness to create a sense of unity and nonpartisanship within the forum hall.
