We’re seeking a Real Estate Development Manager to lead transformative redevelopment projects across Hamilton County. If you’re passionate about construction, community impact, and strategic development, this is your chance to make a difference.
What You'll Do
1. Project & Construction Management
- Prepare development plans, schedules, and project budgets.
- Develop and manage pro formas, sources and uses, and overall project financials.
- Review and administer contracts, including scope clarifications and payment applications
- Review RFQs and RFPs and support the bidding process.
- Administer grant funds and other funding sources in accordance with eligibility and compliance requirements.
- Support due diligence activities.
- Manage development projects through construction administration and closeout.
- Conduct site visits to active construction projects to assess progress and represent the owner’s interests.
3. Regulatory & Compliance
- Work with government agencies to ensure timely approval of zoning changes, permits, and other compliance matters.
- Ensure bidding and contracting processes comply with relevant laws and policies.
- Support grant compliance and reporting.
4. Internal & External Collaboration
- Collaborate across internal teams within a complex, multi disciplinary organization.
- Communicate effectively with developers, contractors, engineers, environmental professionals, and Port team members.
- Support community engagement efforts related to redevelopment initiatives.
5. Strategic Planning & Oversight
- Administer and support the Development team’s project portfolio to ensure successful completion on time and on budget.
- Plan, track, and communicate timelines, milestones, and deliverables to partners.
- Identify, reduce, or eliminate project risk through observation, assessment, and problem-solving.
What You Bring
Education and Experience
- Bachelor’s degree in construction management, real estate, urban planning, engineering, environmental engineering, architecture, or another field emphasizing organizational and planning skills.
- 4–8 years of experience in a similar role; Professional experience in construction and/or project management is preferred but not required.
Skills, Specialized Knowledge & Abilities
- Familiarity with property development including acquisition, redevelopment, and disposition; Construction materials, methods, and processes; Construction payment applications, draw requests, etc.; and Grant funding and compliance reporting.
- Ability to attend meetings on construction sites, perform construction site observation duties, and experience writing construction field observation reports.
- Ability to tour the Port’s project construction sites and attend out-of-office meetings.
- Excellent communication skills, including written, verbal, and listening skills; The ability to effectively communicate with developers, contractors, engineers, certified environmental professionals, and Port team members; Ability to orchestrate and participate in various outreach efforts including experience in public speaking.
- Highly organized and detail oriented; Capability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.
- The ability to identify, reduce or eliminate project risk, through observation, assessment, and problem-solving.
- Self-motivated and energetic with a strong work ethic and the ability to think creatively.
- Excellent judgment and personal integrity are required.
Other Prerequisites
- Ability to operate all applicable office equipment.
- Satisfactory results on pre-employment written and oral testing, as administered by appropriate practitioners at The Port’s direction, if applicable.
- Satisfactory results of background investigations.
- Be insurable and maintain insurability for the operation of motor vehicles, as use of personal vehicle may be required to attend out-of-office meetings.
- Ability to perform all the essential functions of the position outlined herein without creating a direct or indirect threat to the safety of oneself or others.
