Ferrell has served as Chief Executive Officer & General Manager of the Metro transit system in Greater Cincinnati since Jan. 5\, 2015. He is responsible for a fleet of nearly 400 buses and a 830-employee workforce that provides about 15 million rides per year on Metro fixed-route and Access paratransit buses.  \n\n\n\nFerrell most recently served as the County Manager of Fulton County\, GA\, where he was responsible for a $1.5 billion budget and led more than 5\,000 employees in the management of activities and operations of county departments\, in addition to developing\, recommending and administering the county's state and federal legislative agenda.  \n\n\n\nA transit professional with more than 30 years of experience\, Ferrell began his career as a bus operator in Dallas and has since held leadership positions at some of the largest\, multi-modal public transportation systems in the nation\, including Austin\, Dallas\, New Orleans\, and Philadelphia. For four years\, he served as Deputy General Manager and Chief Operating officer of the Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA)\, where he managed 5\,000 employees\, a $400 million operating budget and a 10year\, $1.8 billion capital improvement program for the ninth largest system in the United States.   \n\nFerrell is a recognized leader in the transit industry and has been actively involved with the American Public Transportation Association (Board of Director At-Large)\, the Ohio Public Transportation Association (Vice President)\, Conference of Minority Transportation Officials and Transportation Research Board. He participated in the Eno Center for Transit Leadership Executive Development Program and is a graduate of Leadership Atlanta.  \n\n\n\nHe is the recipient of the COMTO Thomas G. Neusome Founders' Leadership Award and the Public Relations Society of America's 2015 CEO Communicator of the Year Award. He was recognized as a CEO finalist for the 2016 & 2017 Cincinnati Business Courier C-Suite Awards.  \n\n\n\nFerrell holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business Administration in Management from Huston-Tilloston University in Austin\, Texas.
